K Sense sensor

The occupancy sensor that reveals the real use of your offices.

Installed in two minutes, on the wall or simply set down, K Sense continuously measures the air, comfort and occupancy of every space. No camera, no microphone, 100% anonymous. The data flows into K-work so you can manage your m² on facts, not hunches.

Measurements · K Sense

One device, five measurements.

Every K Sense continuously tracks five indicators of a space's health and use, then brings them together into a comfort index you can read at a glance.

K Sense occupancy and air quality sensor, three-quarter view

CO₂ & air quality

The CO₂ level gives away stale air and a room that is poorly ventilated.

Temperature

The real thermal comfort of the space, measured continuously.

Humidity

The relative humidity level, to spot air that is too dry or too damp.

Light level

The ambient light in the space, measured continuously.

Presence & occupancy

The real occupancy of the space, entirely anonymously.

Comfort index

A live summary score that brings every measurement together.

Benefits

From measurement to decision.

Every measurement turns into a concrete lever for managing your floor space and your teams' comfort.

Measure real use

Capture occupancy and comfort in every space, continuously and without bias.

Spot the wasted m²

Identify the empty or overcrowded spaces that nobody sees today.

Optimise your floor space

Match the m² you lease, and the way you fit them out, to observed use rather than assumptions.

Run on facts

Settle budgets and organisation on reliable data, updated live.

Design

Designed to disappear into the background.

A clean housing with no screen: a discreet indicator turns from green to red with the CO2 level, so you can see at a glance when to air the room. On the wall or simply set on a shelf, K Sense blends into the space: you install it, then forget it. Wireless and battery-powered (up to 20 years' battery life), it moves from room to room whenever you want, with no maintenance at all. It keeps watch quietly while your teams work.

02

You put it wherever you want

On the wall or on a shelf, in 2 minutes, with no tools and no building work. Reposition it whenever you want.

03

It syncs

Measurements are sent automatically, in real time, wirelessly.

04

You take control

Everything appears in the K-work dashboard. You decide on facts.

K-work dashboard

Your spaces, set out in black and white.

The measurements from every K Sense flow live into the K-work dashboard. Occupancy rates, air quality and comfort can be read there by space, by floor and by time slot.

  • See occupancy space by space, in real time and across history.
  • Spot under-used m² at a glance, with no spreadsheet and no manual survey.
  • Track air and comfort so you can act before your teams complain.
  • Decide on facts your floor space, your opening hours and your layouts.
  • Free up ghost rooms : K Sense spots no-shows and K-work reopens the slot automatically.
Decisions grounded in data

How many people, really ?

The sensor tells you whether a space is occupied. Our software goes further: its algorithm combines presence with CO₂ dynamics to estimate how busy a space is, session after session.

Estimated headcount for a space: 34% solo, 66% in groups, inferred by K Sense and K-work
What it changes

Spaces sized on real use.

A space always used by one person does not need to be a large room. Conversely, a room that is always full is undersized. Estimated headcount tells you which is which, space by space.

  • Over- or under-occupancy : spot the rooms that are too big (or too small) for the way they are really used.
  • Fit out precisely : size your spaces on observed headcount, not assumed.
  • Trends over time : track how use evolves, space by space.

Estimated by sensor fusion (presence + CO₂) using the K-work algorithm, 100% anonymous: no individual counting, no camera.

Privacy

Useful data, never intrusive.

K Sense measures the environment and occupancy without ever identifying anyone.

Complete anonymity

No camera, no microphone. No image and no sound is ever captured.

No identification

Nobody is recognised or tracked. Environmental and occupancy measurements are aggregated.

Hosted in the EU, GDPR

Your data stays in the EU and complies with the GDPR, end to end.

Air quality · CO₂

Air quality and CO₂ in the office, explained.

Poorly renewed air tires people out, lowers concentration and erodes comfort, often without anyone noticing. Measuring CO₂ finally makes this invisible phenomenon readable, space by space.

Why measure CO₂

CO₂, the clearest sign of stale air.

In an occupied room, the carbon dioxide (CO₂) we breathe out builds up as soon as the supply of fresh air fails to keep pace. Its concentration is therefore a good indicator of air renewal and of how many people are present: the higher it climbs, the more confined the room. That is the position taken by the INRS, which sees real-time CO₂ detectors as a major asset for prevention at work.

Threshold benchmarks

Where to set the bar, in ppm.

CO₂ is read in parts per million (ppm). Outdoors, air sits at around 400 ppm. Indoors, healthy air means staying below about 800 ppm, the sign of satisfactory renewal. Above about 1000 ppm, CO₂ signals insufficient ventilation: this is the long-standing benchmark used to set the fresh-air flow rates in the French Labour Code.

What K Sense measures

CO₂, and all its context.

CO₂ does not tell the whole story on its own. That is why K Sense records it continuously alongside temperature, humidity, light level and occupancy. Four environmental indicators and one measure of real use, brought together in a single discreet device, to truly understand what each space goes through.

  • More comfort and concentration: well-renewed air limits drowsiness and end-of-day headaches.
  • A genuine wellbeing approach: air and comfort become tracked indicators, not a vague feeling.
  • Acting at the right moment: you air the room or review the ventilation when the measurements justify it, not blindly.
Energy efficiency · CSR

Measuring is already saving.

K Sense makes visible the energy spent on empty or badly set spaces. You, or your BMS, act on facts, and you prove it in your CSR reporting.

Very low-power sensors

Wireless, battery-powered: up to 20 years' battery life. Almost no batteries to replace, little waste, no maintenance call-outs.

No more wasted energy

K Sense measures light level and presence: an alert flags a light left on in an empty space, so it can be switched off at the right moment.

Ventilate just as much as needed

Measuring CO₂ avoids over-ventilating or over-heating empty rooms: you adjust to real occupancy.

Evidence for your CSR reporting

Consolidated occupancy, air and comfort data feeds your CSR and wellbeing reporting: figures, not intentions.

Compatible with your BMS. K Sense runs on low-power LoRaWAN: its measurements can feed your Building Management System through an API, to automate certain actions (lighting, ventilation) according to real use. K Sense measures and alerts; the action stays under the control of your BMS.

The cost of guesswork

of office m² are on average under-used.

Without sensors, you pay every month for empty spaces without knowing it. K Sense makes that use visible, space by space.

Frequently asked questions

No. K Sense contains neither a microphone nor a camera. It measures only environmental parameters (light level, CO₂, temperature, humidity) and occupancy, entirely anonymously. Data is hosted in the EU and complies with the GDPR.

When the sound level option is switched on, K Sense records only the ambient sound intensity. No sound is recorded, transmitted or stored: only the ambient value is kept.

Neither. K Sense goes on the wall or on a shelf in a few minutes, with no wiring and no tools. Wireless and battery-powered, it moves freely, with no permanent fixing. Syncing with the K-work app and dashboard is automatic.

Generally one sensor per space you want to track (meeting room, open space, zone). The ideal density depends on the floor area and your objectives: describe your site in the quote form and our team will advise you.

K Sense fits into your existing spaces and sends its data to K-work, included in the all-inclusive Smart Office offer. KBEEN acoustic booths are complementary, not a prerequisite.

Yes. The Comfort and Premium plans include an integration API: the sensors or the BMS you already have can send their data to the K-work dashboard, without replacing your hardware. Contact us to confirm compatibility.
